I am officially an app fiend. My latest quest is for the best and most useful apps for my sons for help with their schoolwork or have some educational benefit.
Spelldown app: love the ability to put in your own spelling lists and have the audio to hear for the quiz section....we'll see the impact this week on son's spelling test.
Numberline: I admit I need to review my fractions, % and decimals too. Great for the kids to conceptualize where %, decimals & fractions are on the number line.
Word Jong: I'm addicted, so is my 14 year old. We had the lite version then bought the full version. Create words using the letter tiles showing, beat the score of the day. It's even better playing one another on Wii.
TouchCards 2: We use it with study stack. Input online, download to your ipod to quiz on the go. Lots of flashcards already available online.
Gratitude Journal: I use it and loaded it into the sons ipods, their assignment to write everyday 5 things they are grateful for. I was pleasantly surprised they have been keeping their journals and it helps in keeping track of what matters most.
I'll keep searching. Would love for spelling city to have an app to download lists and games.... we'll see!
